Making manhwa and webtoon recap videos
Webtoons are one long vertical strip made for phones; YouTube videos are wide. That mismatch is the whole challenge. Here is how to handle it.
Join the slices into one strip
Chapters usually come as slices that cut straight through panels. Join them in order first so every panel is whole again. In the kit, choose Manhwa and this happens for you.
Cut at the gaps, keep the bubbles
Cut wherever there is a band of plain background. A bubble floating in the gap belongs with the nearest picture: keep them in one shot.
Let tall panels scroll
Show a tall panel at a readable width and scroll slowly top to bottom while the line is spoken. Don't zoom a scrolling panel: one motion at a time.
Keep it readable
A tall panel squeezed onto a wide screen becomes tiny. Keep scrolled panels at least 40% of the screen wide and don't enlarge small art more than about 2x.
Pace lines to the scroll
A long scroll needs a longer line, or two. Five words over a tall panel and it flies past; give tall panels more to say or split them into two shots.
Shorts from the best moments
Webtoons are already vertical, so single moments make strong Shorts. Captions with the spoken word highlighted work especially well here.
