Questions
Short answers to what people ask most.
Is Manga Recap Kit free?
Yes, while it is in beta: sign up with your email and use everything. After the beta it becomes a monthly subscription, and beta testers keep a lower founding price.
Are my chapters uploaded anywhere?
No. The pages, the voice and the video are all made inside your browser on your own computer. Our server only handles your login.
What do I need to use it?
A computer with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge (phones and tablets are not supported). The first visit downloads about 180 MB once, the voice and the speech-bubble reader; after that the kit starts quickly.
Does it work for manhwa and webtoons?
Yes. Manga pages are cut into rows of panels; manhwa and webtoon strips are cut at the gaps between panels, and tall panels scroll slowly from top to bottom so every speech bubble is readable.
Who writes the narration?
You decide. The kit prepares the panels and a ready-made prompt for ChatGPT or Claude, you paste the narration back, and you can change any line later in the editor: only that line is voiced again.
What does the voice sound like?
Nine natural English narrator voices with adjustable speed. The voice is made on your computer, so there are no per-minute voice costs.
Can I add captions?
Yes. Turn captions on for every clip and pick a look: five presets or your own font, colour, size and position, with the spoken word highlighted as it is said.
What video does it make?
An MP4 in 1080p or 720p at 30 or 60 frames per second, ready to upload to YouTube.
Can I post the videos on YouTube?
Only use chapters you have the right to use. Recap channels usually add their own commentary and story explanation; copyright rules and YouTube's policies differ by case and country, so check them for your channel. We can't give legal advice.
